Competency Hub

DACH construction technology group

€2B revenue · global reach

Advised through the RFP process to stand up a dedicated competency hub spanning AI, software development, and IoT.

Context

A DACH-headquartered construction technology group — roughly €2B in revenue, with global reach — needed to expand its engineering capacity without diluting its standards. On the table was a dedicated competency hub spanning AI, software development, and IoT, to be stood up through a formal RFP process.

What we did

We advised through the RFP from the inside out: defining the hub’s mandate, shaping the evaluation criteria so they measured delivery rather than pitch quality, and reading the regional vendor landscape so the shortlist reflected who could actually staff and run a hub of that ambition.

Outcome

A competency hub structured to carry three demanding disciplines — AI, software, and IoT — with the partner selection and operating model to make it durable rather than a one-off procurement.

Described, never named — the shape of the work speaks for itself. This is what a Competency Hub engagement looks like in practice.
